DotNetNuke Christmas Wishlist

Christmas is right around the corner and it is time to to make sure that Christmas wish list to Santa is ready to send, if not already on its way. Here is my list to Santa and DNN Corp. for DotNetNuke, not necessarily in order.

  1. Revamp Snowcovered to make it more searchable and more SEO friendly. I still have trouble finding modules I know exist on Snowcovered and searching by the name of the developer hardly ever works. Snowcovered also leaves a lot to be desired on the Search Engine front, I am more likely to find people selling their modules on their own site than see a listing for Snowcovered come up in Google. (Come on DNN Corp. you have owned the DNN marketplace for 2 years now.)
  2. Make the 'core' modules use templates and have more 'standard' features. I know I could do this for myself and I have for clients but it seems 'core' modules that have a standard set of features are hit and miss.   Since DNN Corp. determines what are 'core' modules they really should have a set of standard features (templates, export, import, etc.).
  3. I like the moveable 'manage' button but it covers the title of the module, this has caused me some issues, and when you move the button it doesn't stay where you place it. I wonder if an option for a right click context style menu for power users would be a better idea, it seems to work okay on the 'Pages' module.

Its a short list for Santa this year because DotNetNuke has made so many strides to really become a kick ass platform for building websites and online applications.
